Hey I'm Chelsea and I'm 25. I was born and raised in my hometown Of Osoyoos and I am honored to announce I will be representing my community on a National stage as i was selected as a Miss Canada Petite 2017 Finalist. The pageant is a part of Miss Canada Globe Productions and will be taking place later this Summer in Toronto. I love fine arts like acting and photography. I enjoy watching movies, reading and creating videos from youtube. Within the past few years I started doing Special FX makeup and I have really enjoyed that. Especially the past two Halloweens were I find and enter as many makeup contests as possible and just challenging myself. I love to travel and meet new people, so if you're interested in me, I'm interested in you.

Vlogmas Day 5 opening the advent calendars



On December 5th it was Day two of the annual Osoyoos Lite-Up where I took part in an Ugly Sweater Contest at Sears Osoyoos, visited the Kiwanis Christmas Craft Fair, and bought a few more "ugly" sweaters to wear in December!
For my ugly Sweater I wore my George [walmart] Reindeer knit sweater with the cute scarf [really reminds me of Harry Potter.] Sadly I didn't win the contest. 
After that It was time for me to open my December Advent Calendars. For my Chocolate Calendars I got a Salted Caramel from Purdy's, a mini Kinder Egg from my Kinder Surprise Calendar, as well as a Lindor Mini Milk Ball from my 24 Day Lindt Teddy bear Calendar. Lastly I got an Olaf chocolate from my Frozen Advent!

In side station four of my Craft Crossing Calendar I found the Dominator a Farm house styled Beer! 
12 Days of Clinique
 For Day number four of my 12 Days of Clinique we found Hydrations little helper which was a 30 mL jar of Moisture Surge extended thirst Relief Gel-Creme. Which is my all time favorite clinique product. You can find it here in a 50mL bottle for over $45.00 [Click Here]

2015 Craft Crossing Calendar for Vlogmas


At First I scoffed at the idea of a Beer Advent Calendar especially when I saw it was selling for over $70. However when I stumbled across the last box at a Liquor Store on Black Friday and that it was on sale for $65 I scooped that heavy baby up. It might be outrageously big and bulky but it's mostly a thing of BC Beauty.
The calendar was a collaboration between two Breweries in the Coast and the meticulous attention to the tinniest of details is a thing of wonder. So far the bottles I have gotten [12 of which are newly released flavors] have custom Advent Calendar labels which means I will probably end up collecting them just for the bottle artwork [yes I do often buy wine/liquor for the artistic aspect of the bottles.] NOT TO MENTION HOW WITTY the bottles/calendar has been thus far.
Absolutely NO REGRETS paying as much as I did because I think this will be one of my favorite calendars just in regards to opening up the days to read the hilarious banter on the labels.
Even though I don't drink and if I had to drink it all I could probably make it last several months. However I love a good Beer based Hair rinse & can always use it for substitutes in Christmas Cooking where many of the recipes call for liquor [particularly the tradition things like Christmas Pudding.]
EITHER WAY I'm STOCKED TO be able to Support ‪#‎BCBuyLocal‬ and try this unusual variation of a Classic Christmas Tradition.
Also it was nice being supported by Parallel 49 who liked my Posts on Instagram nearly as soon as I posted the pictures. So that certainly helped me warm up to my expensive and sporadic advent Calendar Buy!

Oliver Christmas Craft Fair

On November 21st the day before my Birthday I headed up to Oliver to attend their annual Christmas Craft fair. Something I had never attended before.
Much like the Penticton Christmas Craft Fair & Sustainable living Show  I was Once again I was blown away by the extraordinary talent on display at the craft fair where artisans, crafters, bakers and entrepreneurs gathered to showcase their ware.
More importantly I was very impressed by the community support and spirit that was in full swing. Which showed the community fully supporting the Shift your Shopping Movement as well as continuing to Buy local and buy BC. Which at the end of the day encourages community strength and growth in economy.
During this craft fair the first few booths were selling Christmas Decorations. My mom purchased me this gorgeous stained lightly pink glass Icicle from Starfire Stain Glass made by Lorie which she will be giving me for Christmas [I.e I have no photos of]
Next we found ourselves a few stands down at Scroll Saw Art which featured gorgeous hand crafted creations made by Howard Karl. I bought a delicate reindeer decoration for only $8.00. 
Next we visited our Friend Sherri who was hosting a table full of handmade products using all natural ingredients and scented with Young Living Essential Oils. As Sherri is a Young Living Essential Oil distributor and we met her through Tracy with Big Bear Bites when she hosted Young Living Essential Oil make & take workshops.
Sherri very kindly gave me one of her chapsticks as a Birthday present & gave one to my mom too once she learned her Birthday was on November 28th. Afterwards I bought a Living well alcohol free Sanitizer for $4.00 as well as a homemade B-Natural Deodorant made using Shea Butter, Coconut oil, beeswax, Aloe Vera, witch Hazel, Arrow Root, Baking Soda, and infused with Abundance, Tea Tree Oil, Clary Sage and Frakincense Young living essential oils! I can't wait to use this natural, cheaper and over all healthier alternative to traditional chemical laden Deodorant.
Next we stopped by to see my friend and fellow toastmaster Shauna where she was selling Holiday Decorations which she had hand painted.  I bought this adorable hand painted Snowman which could either be used as a Gift tag or as a tree ornament. Which I plan to hang mine up on my tree this Christmas! I really love the intricate pattern and how the paint leaves a kind of texture feel to it!
After visiting Shauna we stopped by KBCreative  which features hand made clothing and fun little accessories mainly aimed towards Younger girls but adults can find things too! I bought two matching Frozen/Queen Elsa Hair Barrettes for the two little girls I nanny, who typically wear matching outfits [one is 3 & the other is 7] and both LOVE Queen Elsa from Frozen!  So I'm sure they will put good use to the barrettes. 
Our last stop for the day was at a table full of Ginny's Treasures where I ended up splurging on an very unique and literally one of a kind pendant for myself.
The thing about Ginny's treasures is that Virginia Irving from my hometown of Osoyoos uses Natural leaves and turns them into these exquisite pieces of hand crafted jewelry.  Leaves are carefully gathered and go through a very delicate process to take the intricate parts of the leaf and eventually dip them in metals to preserve their unique patterns forever. My gorgeous piece of nature combined with art and jewelry was well worth the $30.00.
All in all I had a lovely afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed my second Christmas craft fair in November.

Blogmas: Penticton Christmas Craft Fair



On November 8th I attended the Christmas Craft Fair & Sustainable Living Show in Penticton as hosted by Make it Okanagan. I arrived just under 40 minutes until 4 p.m on that Sunday afternoon which is when the Craft Fair was scheduled to end.
I had never been before and I was awe struck by the event itself as well as how many people were there. The Christmas Craft fair was host to over 150 stands featuring Artisans, crafters, artists,
entrepreneurs and independentbusiness owners.
The event was host to over 5,000 people stopping by the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre [PTCO] for some Christmas Shopping through out the Two day affair between November 7th & 8th.
Even though we were short on time my mom and I were able to power walk it through a vast majority of the stands although we missed a fair bit we still had plenty of time to stop, visit and shop.




First we visited Great Bear Bites  which is owned and operated by our friend Tracy. Who runs the operation including Production & store front for Great Bear Bites  in O

liver. Tracy also spends her time as a Young Living Essential Oil distributor and making fabulous handmade, healthy and safe alternatives to everyday products such as Sunscreen, bug spray, Moisturizer, lip balm and deodorant.
Next up I came across a stand called Tree to Me Farm market & Fruit stand that held a  variety of sweet treats including an abundance of Jams & jellies. After having tried Rose Jelly during the Meadowlark Festival I asked the lady running the stand if she had any and ALAS SHE DID!

So I bought myself a jar of a delightfully  pink jar of Rose Petal Jelly [click here to buy it] that was made locally in the nearby community of Keremeos at Tree to Me which is an incredibly unique establishment as it is a Farm market, a fruit stand, Cafe as well as Bed and Breakfast. Talk about an all in one establishment.
After more walking around we came across a little booth that was called Skin Smart Organics. Which specialized in all natural skincare products that are locally made in Kelowna B.C.
What caught my Eye was their signs more than anything in particular their sign that first made me think more about how I spend my money during the Holiday.
Which helped me find out about the Initiatives like BC Buy Local Week  Shift your Shopping   Shop Small Saturday and inspired me to make my own Holiday Shopping pledge  which you can view in my blog here.
Anyway at Skin Smart Organics my attention was drawn to their Smart Mist line where I chose a bottle of Smart Mist 100% Floral Rose Water which you can purchase right here for $12.00.


As mom and I continued on our fast paced Journey to see as much as possible who did we see but  Yinet from Osoyoos with her booth selling her beautiful handcrafted  Fairy View Jewelry line.   I have seen Yinet represent a true Entrepreneurial spirit starting first by opening her clothing Boutique  Fashionate . She now runs both businesses quite successfully managing her store which features the Fairy Jewelry Line whilst also working in the Farmers Markets/Craft Fairs focusing on selling her hand crafted Jewelry. On top of making Jewelry and running Fashionate she is also a wonderful mom to a sweet little guy.
I was lucky enough to have been given a pair of earrings from the Fairy Jewelry Line for my Birthday which was last week. Now I have an excuse to buy some more exquisite pieces to match my new earrings!

As we continued to wind our way along the craft fair we came across this quaint little booth called Simple Pleasures which specialized in Pure Beeswax Candles and Essential Oils. So I bought myself the perfect combination of the two and purchased an adorable handcrafted and hand dyed  beeswax candle in the shape of a tree scented with Pine essential oil! My adorable Winter themed Candle from Simple Pleasures was hand crafted in Peachland which boosts the motto of being the "Jewel of the Okanagan."
During this fabulous craft I got to witness so many things in such a short amount of time. I got to take a sneak peek at a 3D Printer as well as  a Live swarm of bees in a wooden glass paneled Bees Nest.
I only wish I had gotten there earlier and had more time to browse the extraordinary amount of talent found within the abundance of all the different products.

This Christmas I pledge to Shop:

This Christmas I pledge to           
  • Shop SMALL,
  • Spend LOCAL,
  • Eat Local, and
  • ENJOY LOCAL
As I pledge to shift my Holiday shopping through out November and December towards supporting local businesses that support me, the local economy and most importantly MY COMMUNITY.
I take the pledge to shift at least 10% of my shopping to supporting and pShift Your Shopping logopurchasing from Locally owned, operated small and independent businesses.
I also commit to enjoying locally grown food and eating out at locally owned and operated small restaurants and cafes.
I will attempt to become a local champion and community supporter BCBUYLOCALWEEKLOGO.2015during the 4th BC Buy Local week from November 30th to December 6th as I commit to Support my community as well as my Province of BC as I do my holiday shopping at Locally owned or BC operated Businesses Who have Locally or BC made or grown products.
