Vlogmas Day 5 opening the advent calendars

On December 5th it was Day two of the annual Osoyoos Lite-Up where I took part in an Ugly Sweater Contest at Sears Osoyoos, visited the Kiwanis Christmas Craft Fair, and bought a few more "ugly" sweaters to wear in December!
For my ugly Sweater I wore my George [walmart] Reindeer knit sweater with the cute scarf [really reminds me of Harry Potter.] Sadly I didn't win the contest.
After that It was time for me to open my December Advent Calendars. For my Chocolate Calendars I got a Salted Caramel from Purdy's, a mini Kinder Egg from my Kinder Surprise Calendar, as well as a Lindor Mini Milk Ball from my 24 Day Lindt Teddy bear Calendar. Lastly I got an Olaf chocolate from my Frozen Advent!
Craft Crossing Calendar aka Beersmas featuring BC BREW
In side station four of my Craft Crossing Calendar I found the Dominator a Farm house styled Beer!
12 Days of Clinique
For Day number four of my 12 Days of Clinique we found Hydrations little helper which was a 30 mL jar of Moisture Surge extended thirst Relief Gel-Creme. Which is my all time favorite clinique product. You can find it here in a 50mL bottle for over $45.00 [Click Here
From my Gabz Collection 24 day advent I found a gold & Rhinestoned purse charm

Benefit Cosmetics Party Poppers 12 days song

12274526_10206746813342367_1209069602991822546_nThe first advent calendar that really caught my eye and looked like a good price & was available at a store close to me was the Benefit Cosmetics  Party Poppers which includes 12 items to help you embrace the 12  days of Gorgeous. Benefit Cosmetics has always been a brand that has peeked my interest yet wasn't one I wasn't sure was worth the more expensive prices. I was once given a bottle of the PoreFessional Face Primer  and was very impressed with it.
However I still felt clueless about trying the Benefits Cosmetics Brand because there was just such a HUGE variety in products each with a cost more than I could afford.
This year I saved most of my money and decided to treat myself to the 2015 Benefit Beauty Advent calendar and familiarize myself with the Benefit line and get a better idea of what products I would use/need.
I also like how this calendar sings and has a more New Years Eve type count down. Which is when I'm planning to have finished this calendar by [starting close to Christmas & ending in time for the ultimate party popper aka end of 2015
Since I really want this calendar to be a true surprise one, I decided not to look up any reviews nor search up on the products listed as included in the calendar. When I open these little boxes  I want to have truly unbiased views and impressions of the products. As well as using trial and error to get to know how best to use each of the products!
Look for me doing a proper video review of the Calendar closer to when I actually start to open it, but for now enjoy the video I recorded of my calendar singing!

Holiday Countdown scratch & win advent calendar

When I was younger I remember there being these really cool Lottery Ticket styled Christmas Advent Calendars. Albeit I was too young for the Scratch & wins I remember getting a few of them through out the years and having fun with my family as we see who won what.
This year The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has brought back this Beloved Scratch & Win called the Holiday Countdown featuring 24 days/games with every Lottery Ticket a guaranteed Winner.
I purchased mine for $10.00 for a more official break down of the Ticket with the full Faqs at the BCLC website here
As part of the Holiday themed Lottery Tickets the Holiday Countdown Advent scratch & win ticket is a part of the annual BCLC Tech The Halls . Where every eligible ticket that says "Scratch for your Contest Code" can
be entered online at https://www.techthehalls.ca/default.aspx?p=c_tchd_home
Each Ticket gives you an entry into the Tech The Halls online bonus draw which gives you chances to win one of the many fabulous prizes offered in the 2015 Tech The Halls contest. Check out the prizes heCheck out the 2015 Tech the Hall prizes here https://www.techthehalls.ca/default.aspx?p=c_tchd_prizes
One of the cool parts of the campaign is that you accumulate entries with every Eligible ticket you enter. With 5 bonus entries for every $5.00 worth of Lottery tickets you enter into the Tech the Halls draw!

2015 Christmas Advent Calendars

This is a Holiday of many firsts for me. The first time ever attempting to do Vlogmas as well as Blogmas, the first time I've ever had so many advent calendars and lastly the first time I've ever bought more than just a little $3.00 piece a chocolate a day kind of Advent Calendar. So I must admit I went a little Christmas Calendar Crazy however I like to at least think that I allowed myself a vast variety of different types of Advent Calendars. Ranging from Scratch and wins to 24 bottles of beer, 12 tins of tea, 3 Chocolate Advent Calendars and what I am most excited for my 3 BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDARS.
I purchased 10 calendars [with 1 still traveling through the Mail and I want to still buy a cheap little piece of chocolate a day calendar as well just for old time sake, and if I do that I will probably stagger starting it so that I can have CHOCOLATE through the whole month!
Alongside this master list of Calendars  I will also be writing and recording individual reviews of each Advent calendar before opening them. I will then record myself daily opening each calendar as well as recording Weekly recaps & reviews [more so for the Beauty Advent Calendars] where I will go through what I have gotten so far, give my impressions after using everything for a week as well as providing swatches and that sort of thing.
At the end of the month I will do a full review of each calendar from discussing Cost Versus worth, comparing size of products to what they normally are, giving feedback as to what worked for me, what didn't work for me [beauty] and listing my favorite items, the items I like or am impartial too and the items I wasn't crazy about, concluding with whether or not I would buy that particular Advent calendar again!

Christmas Movie collection

12313792_10206747209512271_1263378604993437147_n
A vast majority of my DVD collection is split betweenen Halloween/Horror movies & Christmas Movies. Here are the pictures of my Christmas DVD collection [the ones along the top of the couch are ones I've bought for this Christmas!]
By the numbers I own: Approximately 115 Christmas themed DVDs
Having added 16 new Christmas DVDS to my collection this year. I also have 12 VHS Christmas videos.
Between November & December alone I have already watched 35 Christmas Movies!

So what I thought I would do is at least share with you what I watched each week. I will also include what I watched on TV/On Demand/Netflix/Rental/YouTube.

I may even do a select few to do Movie Reviews for [given the size of my movie collection I'm sure you understand why I can't commit to doing a movie review for every single Christmas Movie I own let alone for absolutely everything I watch this month!
Feel free to follow me on LetterBoxd which is a site you can use as a sort of diary/checklist regarding movies. Find me at CeCe1991 http://letterboxd.com/cece1991/
For those who haven't heard of Letterboxd before it's basically a place where You can rate & review what you've watched as well as specify the date you watched the movie. For example if you add them chronologically as you watch them, it automatically adds them to a Movie diary for you. Thus giving you a timeline/exact day of what you watched! Which is pretty cool.
Tell me what some of your favorite or must watch movies are during Christmas. Play I-spy and spot different movies in my collection, telling me which ones are your favorites, which ones you've never heard of before, which ones you own or those on your DVD wishlist!

Shift your Holiday shopping and commit to shopping local & independent through out November & December
The goal of the annual Shift your shopping initiative is to build a tradition through out North America  by encouraging people to Shift their HolidShift Your Shopping logoay shopping towards shopping Local, Independent and shopping small. With the goal being to  help strengthen the local economies, expands employment, nurture a sense of community, and provides a more relaxed, fun, and rewarding shopping experience.

It is estimated that customers spend large portions of annual shopping budget between November 1st and December 31st.
Did you know that only 6 out of every 10 consumers intend to shop locally? Choosing to buy  local and independent is an effective strategy all year-round, but especially important at the holidays. Keep in mind that sometimes the holidays can make or break a small and or independently owned business.
So ask yourself this Consider the overall value your independent retailers provide you, as well as the important civic and economic benefits they offer your community when making your shopping choices. Imagine your community without these small locally and independently owned businesses.
I personally challenge everyone to join me in making it my personal goal to shift 10% of my Holiday shopping towards shopping locally by making my Holiday Purchases from locally owned operated and independent businesses within my community.

First Ever Blogmas & Vlogmas

December 2015

12316313_10206737021177569_3164960697321257589_nThis year I treated myself to several different kinds of Luxury/Non Food based Advent calendars and from there things snowballed into me creating elaborate plans to participate in my first ever Vlogmas and Blogmas during the holiday heavy month of December.
12313530_10206737020897562_5337748950470144215_n
My elaborate plan is broken down into a few key areas
  1. Advent Calendars
  2. Christmas Baking
  3. The daily things  I do [such as going to Concerts etc]
  4. Reviewing the books I read as well as the movies & TV specials I watch
  5. Holiday Crafts & DIY
  6. Holiday Hauls
Which I broke down into how I was planning to actually vlog/blog and post on Social media which were broken down into
  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • over all recap & review
As well as experimenting with posting Recipes tutorials/break downs, craft Tutorials on both my YoutTube Channel & Blogs.

As of right now I have 10 different Advent Calendars here ready to be opened with one more coming in the mail [Don't worry it's a 12 day calendar so I won't miss any days.] I also want to buy just one more tiny cheap chocolate calendar hopefully one going all month long versus the 24 days.
Basically I was given several calendars for my Birthday [November 22nd] ranging from a lottery ticket, a Christmas Charm Bracelet as well as a Purdy's, Lindt and Kinder Surprise calendars. I myself bought a  Benefit, Clinique, Hard Candy [not here yet], Craft Beer and Davids Tea calendar.
I will be posting a break down of my Advent Calendar as well as a break down of my schedule and plans by the end of today because December and thus Vlogmas/Blogmas start tomorrow!
